ARLINGTON, Va. and CHICAGO, May 30, 2017 /PRNewswire/ — Bloomberg BNA and Baker McKenzie today announced that their seventh annual Washington, DC Global Transfer Pricing Conference, in association with the Tax Management Education Institute, will be held June 7-8 at the National Press Club. The conference will feature government officials, policymakers and industry experts discussing how potential changes to the tax code and other global developments will affect transfer pricing policy. Event information and registration is available at https://www.bna.com/2017-global-transfer-pricing-dc/.

While the specifics of the Trump administration’s tax plan remain uncertain, any changes will affect multinational corporations and global tax authorities. This conference will offer tax professionals insight into these potential changes and how they can best prepare their organizations to respond.

“Uncertainty has never been greater for US multinationals, with the specifics of tax reform — and the chance that it will be accomplished — still unknown,” said Molly Moses, managing editor of Bloomberg BNA’s Transfer Pricing Report. “What is certain is that companies have more compliance obligations than ever before. The deadline for country-by-country reporting is looming, and tax authorities around the world are imposing more restrictions on tax planning as they place the latest recommendations from the OECD into their laws and treaties.”

“Transfer pricing risks are already of significant concern to US multinationals, and we are on the cusp of change both at home and abroad,” notes Mary Bennett, Chair of Baker McKenzie’s Global Tax Policy Practice. “This year’s Global Transfer Pricing Conference will provide attendees with a unique cross‑section of speakers to provide insight on what may occur going forward.”

Conference sessions will center on elements of current tax reform proposals, what corporations should be doing to prepare for potential changes, the future of Advance Pricing Agreements (APAs), transfer pricing litigation, the new IRS audit campaigns, and what the signing of the OECD Multilateral Instrument (MLI) means for the future of global transfer pricing issues.

The conference features an opening keynote by Senate Finance Committee Chairman Orrin Hatch on the status of US tax reform and how the current proposals being considered might affect multinational companies. Other confirmed speakers include:

  • Ryan A. Abraham, Senior Tax Counsel, Senate Finance Committee
  • Christopher J. Bello, Chief, Branch 6, Office of the Associate Chief Counsel (International), Internal Revenue Service
  • Christopher E. Campbell, Staff Director, Senate Finance Committee
  • Henry John Louie, Deputy International Tax Counsel, Treaty Affairs, International Tax Policy, US Department of the Treasury
  • Tom Kane, Division Counsel, LB&I, Office of Chief Counsel, Internal Revenue Service
  • Robert Stack, former Deputy Assistant Secretary (International Tax Affairs), US Department of the Treasury
  • Christopher J. Wolter, Vice President, Tax, The Boeing Company
  • Cynthia Zuk, Director of Global Transfer Pricing, Willis Towers Watson
