SANTA CLARA COUNTY, Calif., Feb. 23, 2017 /PRNewswire/ — Today, the County of Santa Clara asked a federal court to block implementation of the Trump Administration’s plan to strip the County of nearly $1.7 billion in funds used to deliver critical countywide services. The County filed a motion for a nationwide preliminary injunction as part of the County’s lawsuit, County of Santa Clara v. Trump, No. 5:17-cv-00574 (N.D. Cal.), challenging President Donald J. Trump’s January 25, 2017 Executive Order, which unconstitutionally threatens to defund state and local “sanctuary jurisdictions.”
