It’s a strange thing to find huge buildings that are completely abandoned. It’s even stranger to find them deserted in the middle of a wooded area like it was meant to be kept a secret. Many questions come to mind with regards to why it was abandoned, and that’s why some people have taken it upon themselves to explore these locations and try to get to the bottom of the mystery.

The people at “Exploring With Josh,” a YouTube channel, have made it their mission to explore abandoned locations and get to the root of what happened to them. They even claim to have had some run-ins with paranormal occurrences.

The footage from their latest video is spooky yet fascinating. They’ve located an abandoned government facility in the woods and filmed their exploration of it. The mystery of what happened to this facility and the people that worked here is a curious one as it seems like they just got up and left suddenly one day.

Read more about this wooded government facility below and make sure you watch the full footage at the end.

Opening in 1990, this government facility mysteriously closed in 2014. No one knows the real reason why it closed, but as shown in the following pictures, it closed suddenly and with little explanation.

It seems as if everyone just got up and left work in a flash what with record players, computers, files, printers, and some personal items left behind. The imagination can run wild with the possibilities of what would have caused everyone to leave so suddenly.

In one area of the property, this yellow police tape hangs ominously. One can’t help but wonder what caused this tape to be hung in the first place.

During their exploration, the team found a huge crate that was sealed shut. They pried it open and the contents were surprising…

Some fascinating schematics and strange notes were found within. Why were they sealed away in the first place? Perhaps their purpose was meant to be kept a mystery.

Check out the video footage below for the full tour. It’s eerie to watch the team travel through this huge yet completely empty government building. The video has captured the attention of the internet with its nearly two million views and 18,500 likes.

One of the YouTube viewers commented that “In the last scene when you were sitting on the roof, the security camera to your right was rotating and following you. Someone was watching you.” Clearly, we’re not the only ones to think something strange is going on at this government facility!

Do you think this facility was some type of Area 51, top secret location? Was it just a plain old government administration facility? Whatever the case may be, it’s strange that it was so suddenly abandoned and left vacated till this day.
